A Reclamation Monitoring Plan was developed to give standardized guidance monitor reclamation success in the Pinedale Anticline Project Area. This plan contains criteria that are required to be measured and reported annually to BLM and the PAPO.

The PAPO evaluates annual monitoring reports, supports or refutes findings of reclamation assessments
regarding success and rationale, and recommends adaptive management as warranted to achieve successful reclamation. In addition, the PAPO team will conduct on-the-ground monitoring to verify findings and identify critical areas for reclamation. This team’s goal is to restore a sustainable habitat on the Pinedale Anticline, which supports multiple-use and wildlife needs.

Criteria were set forth in the SEIS ROD and the goal of the PAPO’s to achieve these standards. Weed management is a large part of the overall plan for reclamation; each operator is required to comply with BLM-approved weed management plans. Weed management has been in place since 2009, and has proven to be a valuable tool in overall restoration success.
